Like Life...there is always a beginning and we're never certain how each day will end.  With an abundance of emotions, we're hopeful for the best and grateful when it's better than what we expected.

Whatever the subject, I like to create multifaceted and multidimensional pieces. Using different mediums allows me to explore different techniques to create something that is unique.  Some painting bring peace and tranquility while creating, and others require much more concentration, causing a tension of sorts, yet both are satisfying in their own way.

Like Life...you experiment and hopefully learn from mistakes.  You try different things until you are somewhat satisfied and believe that you are on the right path, and yet, you don't know where you'll end up.  However, you should be content while on the journey...I am.

I was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil  and came to the United States when I was three years old.  My grandparents, from Erzurum, were survivors of the Armenian Genocide of 1915, and my parents lived through WWII in Russia and Germany.  Although I have been very fortunate to live in beautiful Southern California the majority of my life, I believe that the stories of my parents, in-laws and other survivors' courage and resilience have influenced much of my life and my art.

As with every artist, each of my paintings is very personal to me, but my paintings of Armenian content, be it a dancer, an ancient cross, a forget-me-not or an ancient symbol, are especially meaningful and heartfelt.  It is a piece of me with which I can honor my Armenian ancestors and heritage.
